Scalp Itch
Scalp itch is an inflammation of the scalp caused by the clogging of the sebaceous glands. When sebaceous (oil) glands on the scalp become clogged and inflamed it often result in severe itching, dryness, scaling and flaking. More severe cases may result in Seborrhea Dermatitis or Psoriasis.
Itchy scalp is common among those of African decent whose curly hair absorbs oil readily into the scalp and hair.
Treatment:
For those who use hair oil/scalp conditioner/hair grease:
Mix one part Blue Star Ointment to 1 part scalp oil and apply to your scalp as normal. You may want to use less of the treated hair oil than you would of your product alone; as too much of the treatment oil may weigh your hair down.
If you have gotten Blue Star Ointment in your hair and you do not have ethnic hair, you can completely remove the product by washing your hair with mixture of 1 part Dawn Dish Washing Liquid, 1 part water. Repeat as needed then follow with your normal shampoo.
