Razor Bumps

Razor Bumps, shaving pimples or shaving bumps are tiny, irritated bumps that develop after shaving. The sharp edge of closely shaven hair can curl back and grow into the skin, causing irritation and pimples, and even scarring. Razor Bumps appear most often after shaving hair at an angle.

Treatment:

To minimize razor bumps and scarring, take a hot shower before shaving, use a good moisturizing shave cream, allow the shave cream to rest on the skin and hair to soften. Then shave in the direction of the hair growth. Don't stretch the skin while shaving and don't go over the same area twice. Rinse with cold water, then pat a thin layer of Blue Star Ointment in the area where razor bumps have appeared in the past. Blue Star Ointment will help exfoliate the scarred layers of skin.

Give your skin about 2-3 days of rest in between close shaves with a blade. Wipe your razor with a cotton swab of rubbing alcohol before and after each shave and change your razor weekly.
